So I got a new Citizen Eco-Drive Radio Controlled Watch.
The model is AT9010-52E and the Movement Caliber is H820 if that helps (sorry I'm new to high end watches, so any other info I can provide that would help I can get that). After some odd things happening (noticed the function hand would be pointing towards the Citizen logo instead of at the date, when checking radio reception the second hand would point towards Denver and not OK/RX/NO like it was supposed to, and when selecting time zones the time was always wrong, i.e. New York time (my time zone) showed the time off by a few hours and a day) I performed an All Reset and set the watch manually (followed a video by Citizen and used the manual to do this) and now the watch is working correctly, for the most part.
If it makes a difference I used time.gov to set the time for my time zone (New York). However, whenever I hit the bottom button (manual calls it 'A') to check the radio reception, it always says 'NO'. I try to get the signal manually by holding down 'A' and the hand moves to 'RX' (which from my understanding means it's trying to get the signal). I tried to do so yesterday, and it just sat on RX for a long time and nothing ever happened. I let it sit north-west facing (seems the North America server is north-west relative to me) near a window overnight since it's supposed to sync overnight at around 2AM.
I checked in the morning by hitting 'A' and from my understanding the hand should have gone to 'OK' saying that it was able to establish contact with the server, but again the hand just went to 'NO' again. I again tried to hit 'A' and manually make it try to contact the server, and the hand went to 'RX' for somewhere between 30 seconds-1 minute (more or less by a bit) and just went back to normal functions. I hit 'A' again and yet again the hand went to 'NO'. So it keeps failing to contact the server. For reference, there are tree's near me, and I am in a cul-de-sac at the bottom of a hill, but even that shouldn't affect it that badly right? I'm worried that even if I go to a completely open area elsewhere that even if it syncs now it wouldn't sync again at night.
I don't want to have to go outside every time I want the watch to sync. I am considering trying another all-reset but even now I don't know if that'll do it (plus being that I've done that once I don't want to risk messing up the watch). Citizen CS is still closed, but even then I don't know what they'd say to do outside of the all-reset (unless there is some secret function I'm missing).
I've tried to search for this problem on the internet and in the manual but I cannot find a solution and I'm starting to get a little frustrated being that this is the first high-end watch I've ever bought and it's not working right. I don't want to return it, thus I am here hoping someone can help me out with the problem.
Quick replies are appreciated, Thanks! TLDR: Got a new Eco-Drive Watch from Citizen (model is AT9010-52E and the Movement Caliber is H820, Radio Controlled watch) and after performing an all reset to fix some odd issues with the watch, the watch won't sync with the server no matter what (even when done manually/automatically at 2AM/overnight). Need help ASAP! For reference, there are tree's near me, and I am in a cul-de-sac at the bottom of a hill, but even that shouldn't affect it that badly right? Fs2004 A380 Panel Download on this page. There's a radio tower in Colorado that broadcasts the time signal and it's entirely possible that your home is just situated in such a way that the signal can't get through.
In general you're probably not going to be able to get a signal in the day time this far away. The reason the watch syncs automatically at 2 AM is because radio signals can travel further at night due to atmospheric conditions. The manual states that the watch will not synchronize if the battery level is too low. What is the charge level? I'm in Atlanta, but down in the suburbs.
