I'm trying to install the flash player plugin without being required to give it an admin password. Unfortunately, Adobe won't let me download it; the only thing they have for download is some 'flash installer' application that demands an admin password. Click show package contents on the application, open Resources, find the installer package, show that package's contents, and open up the Archive.pax.gz file; inside, is a file called Flash Player.plugin.lzma which I have no idea how to extract. So how do I extract the flash player plugin from the lzma archive thing? Also, does anybody know what the latest version of Flash Player is anyway?

I know about the single user mode trick; I once used it to gain access to a computer I retrieved from a (figurative) garbage can. I still think it's wrong to use it on a computer still owned by someone else, though. I don't see why this should be such a difficult thing to do; there's got to be someway to decompress an LZMA file; software exists to decompress it on Windows, and apparently, there's some program that'll do it on OSX, albeit only through Terminal. Once it's decompressed, the flash player can be dropped into ~/Library/Internet Plugins, where it will work quite happily, if only on my user account.
